On Jun 23, 2017 Kerala High Court issued a statement that No permit needed for serving liquor to guests at home (statement)
The division bench of Kerala High court came to this decision after considering the petition submitted by Mr. Alex V Chacko. He was supposed to pay fine of INR 50,000 for serving liquor along with dinner to the guests attending his grandson’s baptism at a pandal fabricated near his house. The court also said the statement that the regulation regarding the quantity of liquor a person can hold is applicable still.
